RADIO APPEARANCES
From is the moniker of Spanish musician Fernando Romero, active since 2019. He began recording alone, drawn to tape hiss, close vocals and the minor distortions of working without polish. The early songs leaned toward bright, hand-shaped pop, but that clarity gradually shifted into something more uncertain. After relocating to the Netherlands, the music slowed and opened out. Space and repetition became structural elements, and his voice moved away from direct confession into a more restrained presence. A subtle play with pitch runs throughout his work: slightly detuned harmonies, vocals that bend or blur at the edges, melodies that feel familiar but not quite settled.
There remains an attachment to the kind of classic sixties melodicism, yet those impulses are set against darker, fragmented arrangements where rhythm feels suspended and atmosphere does the heavy lifting. Two albums with El Volcán Música positioned him within the Spanish independent sphere, though his direction has continued to shift. In recent years, traces of post-punk, dub and coldwave have filtered into his language without turning into stylistic statements. In 2026, he will release three records on three different labels, continuing to refine a practice grounded in tonal nuance, control of mood and songs that unfold gradually rather than announce themselves.

DECOY
"Decoy" is my latest release. Put out via C.F.R, our DIY label based in Asturias. The 100 copies were sold out before the release the 6th of March.
"Decoy means decoy. Trap, trick, bait. Decoy is a From album, but at the same time, it isn't. Decoy is 96 hours of inspiration and delirium locked in a room with an eight-track tape recorder and a few cheap instruments. If you want, I'll tell you there's dub and post-punk and sunshine pop harmonies. It might be true. I'll tell you that From plays with pitched vocals until they're dehumanized, that he sounds like ten different singers, that he knows he's capable of anything. If you ask me, I can tell you it sounds like psychedelic songs in the ruins of the A-63 highway. I confirm it. I assure you. But only if you ask me. Cimatario Fuexo Recordings brings you Decoy on LP, on pure plastic. No hard feelings, as always. With respect, it brings you the purest of truths: the trap, the decoy, the lie. Haven't you realized it yet?"
